The Sun Altacom dining table combines a sculptural central base with the versatility of an extending round tabletop. Its distinctive tulip-shaped metal structure gives the table a fluid, elegant profile. Meanwhile, the round top creates a welcoming setting for everyday dining.

Altacom describes the shape of Sun as reminiscent of a champagne glass. The central pedestal gives the design a strong identity while keeping the area beneath the tabletop visually clean. Moreover, the round top becomes elliptical when extended, providing additional dining space without changing the character of the table.

Round table with an integrated extension

The standard Sun collection includes Ø95, Ø105 and Ø120 cm versions. Each model features a telescopic mechanism with synchronized opening and an integrated folding extension.

Therefore, the extension remains concealed inside the table during everyday use. When additional space is required, the tabletop opens and the internal 60 cm extension expands the dining surface.

The Ø95 cm version extends to 155 × 95 cm. Meanwhile, the Ø105 cm table reaches 165 × 105 cm. Finally, the larger Ø120 cm version opens to 180 × 120 cm.

Consequently, each size can transform from a compact round table into a practical oval dining table.

Sun Super for larger gatherings

The Sun Super AT086S120 offers considerably more extension capacity. It starts with the same Ø120 cm round format. However, its telescopic mechanism uses three separate 50 cm extensions.

You can extend the tabletop to 170, 220 or 270 × 120 cm. Therefore, Sun Super can adapt gradually from everyday dining to much larger gatherings.

When extended, folding support legs provide additional stability at the outer ends of the table. Moreover, an optional storage bag is available for the separate extensions.

Distinctive tulip-shaped metal base

The central metal pedestal is one of the defining elements of the Sun Altacom table. Its curved profile creates the characteristic tulip silhouette while leaving generous space around the table.

Altacom specifically highlights the combination of this flowing base and the refined tabletop materials. As a result, Sun has a sculptural presence even when viewed as a compact round table.

Multiple tabletop finishes

The current collection offers a broad selection of tabletop options, including melamine, shiny glass, open-pore lacquered, oak veneer, Canaletto walnut, mortar-look and ceramic. This variety allows Sun to take on very different visual characters. Altacom also confirms that the model is available with melamine, glass, wood, mortar-look or ceramic tops.

For melamine, wood and mortar-look tops, the extension matches the tabletop finish. With shiny glass and selected ceramic surfaces, the extension instead coordinates with the panel colour.
