The Quad Altacom extending console table offers an effective solution for interiors where every metre of space matters. When closed, it functions as a compact console only 40 cm deep. However, its aluminium telescopic mechanism transforms it into a generous dining table whenever additional space is required.
The simple geometric design makes Quad easy to integrate into contemporary interiors. Moreover, its slim metal structure keeps the overall appearance light and understated. Altacom designed the model to combine two functions in one piece of furniture: an everyday console and a dining table that can accommodate up to 12 people when fully extended.
Compact dimensions for everyday use
Both versions of Quad measure W 95 × D 40 × H 75 cm when closed. Therefore, the console requires very little floor space during everyday use.
The Quad AC001/190 includes three extensions. You can open it progressively to 90, 140 or 190 cm.
Alternatively, the Quad AC001/290 includes five extensions. This version reaches 90, 140, 190, 240 or 290 cm.
As a result, Quad adapts easily to different occasions. You can use only the extensions you need rather than opening the table to its maximum size every time.
Aluminium telescopic mechanism
Quad uses an aluminium telescopic mechanism for its transformation. Each additional panel increases the table length by 50 cm. Consequently, the dining surface can grow gradually as your requirements change.
Central supporting legs add stability when the table is open. Alternatively, Altacom offers the optional Extenso extension holder. This provides another solution for managing the additional panels.
After use, Quad returns to its compact 40 cm deep format. Therefore, you can free up the room again without sacrificing access to a large dining table.
Metal frame with multiple top options
The Quad Altacom console features a metal frame. Meanwhile, the current collection offers the tabletop in melamine, mortar-look and ceramic finishes.
This selection makes it possible to create very different combinations. For example, a melamine top provides a simple contemporary appearance. A mortar-look surface adds a more architectural character. Alternatively, ceramic creates a refined finish with its own distinctive surface effect.
For melamine and mortar-look versions, the extensions match the tabletop finish. With ceramic tops, the extension panels coordinate with the panel colour. In addition, Altacom notes that vein continuity is not guaranteed for the ceramic versions.
