Description
The Leo Midj dining table, designed by Paolo Vernier, combines a sculptural central pedestal with a perfectly round tabletop. Its flowing silhouette gives the table a distinctive architectural character, while the central base leaves the area around the tabletop free from conventional table legs.
Leo is available in three generous diameters: Ø100, Ø120 and Ø150 cm. Therefore, the collection can suit anything from a compact dining area to a larger dining room. Moreover, MIDJ offers an exceptionally broad selection of tabletop materials, allowing the same design to take on very different visual characters.
Sculptural metal pedestal
The central metal base defines the character of the Leo table. Its narrow centre expands smoothly towards the floor and tabletop, creating a continuous sculptural profile.
MIDJ offers the base in its standard M1 metal finishes, including White, Brown, Sand, White Pearl, Graphite and Black. Moreover, an extended M2 palette introduces a much broader range of colours, from Bronze and Fango to Dark Green, Sage Green, Ocean Blue and several warmer accent shades.
As a result, Leo can appear understated and neutral or become a stronger colour feature within the dining space.
Five tabletop material options
One of the main strengths of the Leo Midj dining table is the variety of available tabletop materials.
The 20 mm veneer top comes in numerous stained wood finishes, as well as Natural Oak and Flamed Walnut. Alternatively, the 10 mm HPL top offers both neutral and more expressive finishes.
For a lighter visual effect, Leo is also available with a 10 mm glass top. The collection includes glossy coloured glass as well as matt anti-scratch options.
The 22 mm ceramic top provides another extensive selection. Available finishes range from Savoia and Calce surfaces to several marble-inspired ceramics, including Calacatta, Noir Désir, Green Tinos and Statuario effects.
Finally, Leo can be configured with a 20 mm natural marble top. MIDJ currently lists Beige Travertino Romano, White Calacatta Vagli, Black Marquinia and Green Tinos among the marble options.
Three round dimensions
The standard dining-height Leo stands 75 cm high and comes in three tabletop sizes:
Ø100 × H 75 cm
Ø120 × H 75 cm
Ø150 × H 75 cm
Therefore, the smaller Ø100 version works well where floor space is more limited. The Ø120 model provides a more generous everyday dining surface, while Ø150 creates a substantial round table for larger interiors.
The central pedestal also keeps the visual composition balanced across all three diameters.
A highly configurable dining table
The wide combination of dimensions, metal finishes and tabletop materials makes Leo particularly versatile. For example, a wood top can emphasize warmth and natural texture. Alternatively, glass creates a lighter appearance, while ceramic offers a contemporary surface with numerous decorative options.
For a more luxurious material expression, natural marble gives the table an entirely different character. Consequently, the same Leo design can work across a broad range of interiors without changing its recognisable sculptural form.
