The Clessidra Midj dining table, designed by Paolo Vernier, is defined by its distinctive sculptural pedestal and perfectly round tabletop. The base takes inspiration from the silhouette of an hourglass, creating two opposing volumes that meet at the centre. As a result, Clessidra has a strong architectural presence while maintaining an elegant and balanced appearance.

The collection offers several dimensions and an extensive selection of materials. Moreover, larger versions introduce additional possibilities for the base, including combinations of wood and metal. Therefore, Clessidra can be configured for both compact dining areas and spacious interiors.

Sculptural hourglass base

The pedestal is the defining element of the Clessidra design. Its two conical sections meet at a narrow central point, creating the characteristic hourglass profile.

For the Ø100 and Ø120 cm versions, MIDJ uses a metal frame with a metal insert. This combination also forms the basis of the Ø100 configurations available to order directly through our website.

The larger Ø150 and Ø180 cm versions offer additional possibilities. Depending on the selected configuration, the frame can combine metal or wood with a metal insert. Consequently, the larger Clessidra tables provide even greater scope for material and colour combinations.

Multiple tabletop materials

The Clessidra Midj dining table offers a particularly broad selection of tabletop materials.

For the Ø100 version, the current collection includes melamine, HPL, veneer, glass, ceramic and natural marble. Each material is available in different finish categories, allowing the character of the table to change considerably.

Veneer introduces natural warmth, while HPL provides a clean contemporary surface. Glass creates a lighter visual effect. Alternatively, ceramic offers sophisticated stone and marble-inspired finishes.

For a more distinctive natural material, Clessidra is also available with a 20 mm natural marble top. Therefore, the same sculptural base can support anything from a restrained everyday configuration to a more luxurious statement piece.

The Ø100 version offers the most compact footprint and is available to configure directly on this product page. Meanwhile, larger versions provide a more substantial dining surface and additional configuration possibilities.

Material availability varies between dimensions. For example, certain ceramic finishes have size-specific restrictions. Moreover, the Ø180 natural marble top is available only in selected marble finishes.
